THE BARBARIANS ARE COMING !
The Barbarians are playing the Combined Services at Aldershot on Wednesday 11 November in the Remembrance Day match. This annual fixture is ’in support of Armed Forces charities’, particularly the Royal British Legion. It is certainly one to watch, with many fierce exchanges and results going down to the wire. The Combined Services have over the years considerably strengthened their squad and intend to end the decade on a high note. Many of the Services’ players who deployed to Afghanistan in May, post the Inter Services matches, will have returned from active duties. Services skipper Mark Lee said “This is a great match, we need all our players who will be much the stronger for having spent their summer hols in the Helmand Hotels”. The Barbarians can be certain to select an internationally flavoured squad capable of playing crowd pleasing rugby – then it’s all about that place on that date – 11th November. Kick off 1915 hrs.
